Install on macOS
Installation on macOS
This document provides step-by-step instructions for installing Identrix on macOS.
Identrix runs as a standalone command-line application on macOS. There is no installer package — you only need to download, extract and run it.
Get prerequisites
macOS has built-in support for PC/SC smart card readers, so in most cases no additional drivers need to be installed before connecting an NFC smartcard reader. If your reader is not recognized after installation, see Connect a Scanner for further steps, or contact support.
Step 1: Download Identrix
Download the latest version of Identrix for macOS from Download Identrix for macOS.
Step 2: Extract the Archive
Locate the downloaded archive (e.g.,
Identrix-macOS.tar.gzorIdentrix-macOS.zip) in your Downloads folder.Extract it from the Terminal:
tar -xvf Identrix-macOS.tar.gzor
unzip Identrix-macOS.zip- Navigate to the extracted directory:
cd Identrix-macOSStep 3: Allow Identrix to Run
Because Identrix is not distributed through the App Store, macOS Gatekeeper may block it the first time you try to run it.
If you see a message that Identrix “cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer” (or “Apple could not verify…”), open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the Security section, and click Open Anyway next to the message about Identrix.
Alternatively, in Finder, Control-click (right-click) the Identrix application and choose Open, then confirm that you want to open it.
If you are running Identrix from the Terminal and macOS reports that the file cannot be executed, make sure it has execute permissions:
chmod +x identrixStep 4: Running Identrix
- Identrix backend is a console application.
- The easiest way to run it for the first time is from the Terminal.
- Refer to Running Identrix for the available commands and options.
- Later you can configure Identrix to start up automatically.
Basic extraction / installation is now finished. Please choose your next steps.
